DSW University of Lower Silesia
The DSW University of Lower Silesia has for years been recognized in Perspektywa rankings as the best non-public master's university in Lower Silesia and one of the most important academic centers in Poland.
About university
The school was established in 1997. Its founder was the Common Knowledge Society Regional Branch in Wroclaw. The DSW University of Lower Silesia educates 3.5 thousand students in 14 first- and second-level majors, which are conducted in accordance with international standards, based on original and award-winning educational programs. It also offers nearly 60 postgraduate majors. Students and employees can also take advantage of the offer of foreign studies and internships from nearly 100 academic centers from 24 countries from the European Union cooperating with the DSW University of Lower Silesia under the ERASMUS+ program. The university employs a staff of over 200 people, more than half of whom are research and teaching staff employed at DSW as their primary place of work. They include 66 PhDs and 46 people with postdoctoral or professorial degrees. Nearly 31,000 graduates have already received bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
From bachelor's to doctorate
The DSW University of Lower Silesia, as one of the few non-public universities in Poland, has full academic rights. The Faculty of Pedagogical Sciences was granted the right to confer the degree of Doctor of Humanities in pedagogy in 2005 and the right to confer the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, which it has held since 2009. Doctoral studies are conducted in Polish, English and Czech. Another authorization to confer the degree of doctor of humanities in the discipline of cognition and social communication sciences was granted to the Faculty of Social Sciences and Journalism in 2010. A total of nearly 80 people have been awarded doctoral and postdoctoral degrees by DSW.
Science, research...
The University has already carried out more than 60 research, development and implementation projects, including 14 international projects with funds from, among others, the National Science Center, the National Center for Research and Development, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, etc., for a total funding amount of nearly PLN 25 million. It also carries out other projects under programs: Horizon 2020, Erasmus+, International Strategic Partnerships, Operational Program Human Capital, or Operational Program Knowledge Education Development.
The DSW University of Lower Silesia also hosts numerous seminars, debates, international conferences, specialized courses and trainings, as well as classes conducted by prominent experts, practitioners and specialists cooperating with the university. So far it has organized, among other things, 170 scientific conferences, including 48 of international rank and 122 of national scope, 233 scientific seminars, of which 151 are meetings organized periodically. The university has also organized 14 editions of International Summer Schools.
Space to grow!
Space to develop professionally, academically, realize passions and interests! Students, graduates and employees have at their disposal one of the largest non-public libraries in Poland, its own bookstore, a scientific publishing house, a TV studio, studios (multimedia, IT, design and photography) and modern laboratories: sound with a recording studio and a specialized motion capture studio for 3D animation and special effects. The university also has an art gallery, an academic theater, the Lower Silesian University of the Third Age, a Career Office and a Conference Center. DSW is located not far from the center of Wroclaw and is well connected to, among others, the airport, the train and bus stations, and the city’s highway bypass.

For candidates from the “Study in Wroclaw” project, the DSW University of Lower Silesia offers:
- one place with a total tuition fee exemption for the first year on a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Unified Master’s degree program;
- one place with an exemption from the tuition fee of 75% of the list price for the first year for Bachelor’s, Master’s or Unified Master’s studies;
- one place with a 50% tuition fee exemption from the list price for the first year for bachelor’s, master’s or unified master’s degree programs;

Applications for free places are accepted from 01.05.2023 to 30.07.2023
The dates for the Polish language proficiency test will be determined individually
