University of Wroclaw

One of the oldest universities in Central and Eastern Europe with over 300 years of tradition. The largest university in Lower Silesia. Among the graduates of this university are 9 Nobel Prize winners in physics, chemistry, literature and medicine.

About university

The University of Wroclaw – as the only Polish university – is a member of the worldwide ISEP exchange network, in which about 250 universities from around the world participate, including 132 American universities. It is the third Polish university most frequently chosen by foreign students. UWr ranks top among Polish universities in terms of the number of students going abroad under the Erasmus+ program.

Nearly 22,000 students study at the University of Wroclaw in almost 150 fields of study, including about 15,500 in full-time studies. More than 1,300 of them are foreigners.

Required documents

Documents required for recruitment 2023/2024:

  • application for admission to studies printed from the IRKa system and signed by the candidate, together with a statement that he/she is familiar with the contents of the model agreement,
  • a photocopy of the diploma of completion of studies with the original for inspection to confirm compliance by the Recruitment Committee, or a certificate of completion of studies of the first degree, second degree or uniform master’s degree (if there is a difference in personal data between the documents (e.g. change of name), a certificate of change of personal data is additionally required for inspection),
  • apostille or legalization of a foreign diploma issued outside Poland,
  • translation into Polish of documents prepared in a language other than Polish,
  • document confirming knowledge of the Polish language,
  • a statement of possession of a health insurance policy for the period of education in Poland or a European Health Insurance Card or an agreement with the National Health Fund. In the absence of the above-mentioned documents at the stage of recruitment, it is acceptable for the candidate to make a commitment to submit these documents at a later date,
  • decision on the award of a scholarship – in the case of candidates directed to study, for example, by NAWA,
  • document entitling to study full-time in Polish without fees (if applicable).

Documents may be delivered at the date and place specified in the schedule by a person authorized by the candidate on the basis of a power of attorney.


In the case of resignation from study, the submitted documents are issued at the written request of the candidate (sample resignation from study) to the candidate’s own hands, or to a person authorized by the candidate, or returned by mail with return receipt.

Fees

Cost of full-time studies:

  • Study in Polish: First year of study from 2350 euros to 2650 euros, depending on the field of study.The following year from 2200 euros to 2500 euros, depending on the field of study.
  • Study in English: First year of study – from 3150 euros to 3650 euros, depending on the field of study. The following year from 3,000 euros to 3,500 euros, depending on the field of study

 

  • Enrollment fee – 20 euros
